May 17th - Jack Valliere, Rusty Landahl, & Fred Dampier returned from the injured reserve list.  Everyone seems to be in fine health, although Fred is running slow.  The injury seems to be lingering on for now.
May 24th - It is worthy to note that Reg Barnes blasted an inside-the-park homerun to right centerfield.  The ball, which is the longest I've seen Reg hit, must have sailed over the defending player by about 25 feet and, needless to say, Reg was off to the races.  Great hit, Reg!
Kenny King attended the ball game.  He is visiting from Canada for a week.  Thanks for dropping by to watch the action, Kenny. May 27th - Two new bats were given to the Winter Haven Senior Softball Club today.  Donated were a 2005 Worth EST Gold 27 ounce bat & a 2005 Worth EST Blue 28 ounce bat.
Due to tournament play beginning today, the morning game was played on the short field (Field A) & a total of 27 players showed up to play.  Three teams had to be formed for a seven inning game. Numerous balls were hit over the fence for ground rule doubles, but the team that won 19-18-18 was the team that had no players whose hits cleared the fence in fair territory. On hand to watch the game was Murray Graveline.  Murray is recently retired from the USPS & didn't play during the 2005 season due to a back injury. May 31st - Today was a washout.  Every field had large standing puddles of water on the infield.  The forecast today called for a 70% chance of rain all day, but the torrential downpour around 6:45 AM was the main contributor in the decision to call off the ballgame today.
