CHUCK RICHMOND

Chuck Richmond, 65, of Lakeland, Florida, passed on September 5, 2009 after a lengthy battle with throat and lung cancer. He was born on September 1, 1944 in Harlen, Kentucky.
Chuck retired as a real estate broker and moved to Florida, where he worked as an independent contractor installing water purification systems. He joined the Lakeland Senior Softball program upon turning the age of 54 and remained there until earlier this year. He joined the Winter Haven Senior Softball Club in 2008 and played briefly there.
Chuck managed teams for years in Lakeland Senior Softball. He also played on various Florida Half Century tournament teams, including the 50s team Road Ends Bullets, the 60s team Lake Wales Legends, and the 65s team Lakeland Rounders.
Chuck was a member of Fort Dade Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 4, the Realtors Association, and the Florida Water Association.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Mary Jo, sons William of Virginia, Emiliano of Florida, daughter Michele of Florida, sister Jewel of Ohio, brother Robert of Georgia, 10 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
