Winter Haven at Kissimmee

Sam Harrell organized a team comprised of members of the Winter Haven Senior Softball Club to play a double header in Kissimmee. Sam played softball in the Kissimmee morning league before joining the Winter Haven group.
The games took place in Kissimmee.
Game one was uneventful for Winter Haven as they lost 12-6. Winter Haven began the top of the first inning with a single from leadoff batter Cecil Vasquez and two runs were scored in the inning compliments of two Kissimmee errors.
The only bright spot in game one occured in the fourth inning, when Winter Haven put together three runs on consecutive hits by Doug Chamlee, Dick Sessink, Sam Harrell, & Jack Valliere.
Team members, positions, and batting order were Cecil Vasquez (LC), Wayne Mundy (SS), Ron Thompson (RF), Jim Laffoon (3B), Don Witmer (R), Fred Dampier (RC), Freddy Gonzalez (LF), Doug Chamlee (1B), Dick Sessink (P), Sam Harrell (C), and Jack Valliere (3B).

Winter Haven dominated game two as they scored in all but two in the 9 inning contest. Hits by Sam Harrell & Jack Valliere accounted for the two runs in the second inning. Three runs followed in the very next frame on hits by Ron Thompson, Jim Laffoon, & a triple by Freddy Gonzalez.
Wayne Mundy drove in the fourth and final run of the fourth with a sacrifice fly ball following hits by Doug Chamlee, Sam Harrell, & Cecil Vasquez.
Although the scoring was lopsided, Winter Haven tacked on five more runs in the seventh frame on four hits. Pitcher Dick Sessink drove in the fifth run with a single.
