The first half of the inaugural competition was held between the Lakeland Senior Softball Club and the Winter Haven Senior Softball Club on March 2, 2005 at the Diamond Plex fields in Winter Haven. The three Lakeland teams each won against the three Winter Haven teams. The Lakeland team managed by Jose Agosto beat the Elmer Black Winter Haven team 18-10. The John Fulton Lakeland team beat the Joel Freedman Winter Haven team 27-10. The George Radlein Lakeland team beat the Fred Dampier Winter Haven team 30-27. The first annual competition concluded in Lakeland on March 9th at the Southwest Complex in Lakeland. The weather wasn't kind because it rained steadily throughout the games. Once again, the three Lakeland teams each won against the three Winter Haven teams. The John Fulton Lakeland team beat the Fred Dampier Winter Haven team 21-18. The George Radlein Lakeland team beat the Elmer Black Winter Haven team 24-23. The Lakeland team managed by Jose Agosto beat the Joel Freedman Winter Haven team 21-11.
